Anwar Jumabhoy is co-author of 9 Entrepreneurism's: Management Practice for a VUCA World. He prepares corporate executives and companies on entrepreneurial practices to leverage changes brought about by the "Unboxed World". The changes focus on how Learning, Working and Investing will evolve.
His articles have appeared in the Malaysian Institute of Management, Edge Weekly, DigitalNewsAsia.com, and Leaderonomics.com. He is a regular podcast guest and speaks on entrepreneurial practices that companies can adopt.
Anwar started his career as a Naval Architect in the United Kingdom and soon after moved to work in Singapore at a rig-building yard. It transformed from a small back of the water shipbuilder to become one of the largest rig-builders in the world. Anwar then completed his MBA at IMD, co-founded a number of ventures in biotechnology, battery production, and children's activities.
From April 2004 to July 2010, Anwar was Senior Vice President of Malaysia Venture Capital Management Berhad. He has been a coach and mentor to several CEO’s and Founders that were funded by Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd. This included 3 Founder CEOs, who listed their companies on SGX (Singapore) and MESDAQ (Malaysia). His most recent executive position was as Director of Operations at Tune Hotel Group. Anwar left the Tune Group in May 2015.
Anwar has also been a Mentor at the Malaysia Global Innovation and Creativity Centre. He has also served on the Industry Advisory Board of Taylor’s University – Schools of Hospitality and Business.
